$50 Million Dollar Art Theft
 
Prior to signing these and other pieces his entire collection was stolen from his studio in California.
December 14, 2000 -- Police in California, Texas and Oklahoma are investigating the report of over $50 Million Dollars of Stolen Art by the world renowned Artist Sky Jones. The art was reportedly taken in two separate incidents involving people who were working with the artist in various business ventures.
The thefts included over 1,000 pieces of original art as well as other valuables and cash worth a reported $50 million. The latest pieces were 4 - 4 ft by 8 ft pieces painted and sculpted by the artist, over a 2 year period. These pieces have frames weighing in at over 75 each and are 1 1/2 ft thick. The pieces are registered with the Banker Art Museum. Therefore, any sale of these pieces will not include the necessary registration documents which accompany all original Sky Jones Paintings.
In addition to the art, seven large hand carved Jade Sculptures weighing a total of 520 lbs were also reported stolen. Also stolen was 60 lbs of Precious and Semi precious gems, some of them over 200 ct in size, cash settlements with corporations and several million dollars in Stock and other assets.
